Risography

I work at Pamflett where I teach the technique and process of riso printing, and print riso for customers. I love the ocean (even though I fear it), collect old photographs and books, and enjoy drinking tea with a cat on my lap.

Screen touch vs. Grain

Screen touch and grain are two different options for screening, or different ways to puncture the master paper when making the stencil for riso printing. They look different, and you choose one based on what you want to achieve. Screen touch has a more classical raster look, while grain reminds me more of naturally grainy images.

I made these examples including thin lines in different angles, different textures, symbols and images, to show how the different settings will effect the outcome.
